August 19, 2010: Sharon’s last day of work at Hopelink.
August 20-25: Chaotic time of packing, cleaning, spackling, painting, goodwill runs and good-bye dinners, hopefully with a mid-week backpacking trip thrown in if we plan well.
August 26: Pick-up U-haul, load it up, clean the apartment like there’s no tomorrow.
August 27: Final apartment walk-through with the landlord (pray that we get our deposit back!), caravan to Portland, put entire life into 5x10x8 space.
August 28 – mid-Septemberish: Play-time in Oregon with family and friends. A blessed time to relax and tie up any loose ends.
September 15th-ish: Commence road-trip to prove to Tyler that good things do exist in California: highlights to include 3 days in Yosemite. Another amazing blessing.
September 25-26: Be in my dear, dear friend Michelle’s wedding at Lake Tahoe. It promises to be a blast of getting to see a wealth of family and friends before we leave, a blessing!
September 27: Drive car to Seattle and to leave it with our amazing friends while we’re gone. Train ride back to Portland. Frantically begin doing laundry and “final” packing.
September 29: The fated day when we see if the sketchy tickets I purchased on airfare.com are real
September 30: If all goes well, arrive in Buenos Aires
October 4: Begin intensive Spanish classes at Universidad de Buenos Aires
November: Sharon begins her internship, Tyler continues Spanish classes
January 29, 2011: Program ends at the end of the month, then what…?
January-February: Explore Patagonia: the southernmost parts of Argentina and Chile!
March: WOOFing in Bolivia??
April: Peru?? Assess finances and decide what’s next from there!
